Jan-Hendrik holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Computer Science, specializing in Computer Graphics and Virtual Reality, both granted by the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences, Germany. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. as one of the five doc.hci students, with a focus on the topic of Health. In the Department of Creative Technologies at Salzburg University of Applied Sciences, he is dedicated to exploring innovative applications for extended reality.

Key aspects of his Ph.D. are the concepts of “opportunity times” and “opportunity spaces”, which he uses to find opportunities for everyone to engage in physical activity.

Beyond academia, Jan-Hendrik serves as a Game Master for Pen and Paper RPGs and has a passion for dragons and bad puns.
